Life isn't fair, we get it. However this film does a terrible job at tugging at the heart strings to make you feel for it. This is an early review. The Reluctant Fundamentalist is about a young ish Pakistani who battles against his own nature in an effort to find a balance between Western success and Eastern "holiness". Our protagonist, in the late 90s, finds success at a wall st firm due to the fact that he's a Will Hunting like genius (of course this is displayed in a cheapened way). However in the wake of 9/11, of course since he's Pakistani he's treated like a terrorist and interrogated at every turn, even though the sort of day to day profiling explained in the movie doesn't happen in real life. Simply put, this film is a melodramatic piece of trash which exists for cheap emotional response. It's basically a lifetime movie.

Turturro dropped out due to scheduling conflicts and Tony Shalhoub was cast. At just over 20 million dollars, the film stands as Michael Bay's lowest-budgeted film since his feature film debut Bad Boys. He, Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson took pay cuts to keep the budget down.

Mud Full Movie User Review : Mud was very well-received by a packed house at the Paramount Theatre for its Regional Premiere at Austin's SXSW Film Festival. The crowd particularly loved local favorites director Jeff Nichols and the always shape-shifting Matthew McConaughey. (How is it possible that McConaughey hasn't even been nominated for an Oscar yet?) Mud is a charming, entrancing film that has almost lyrical quality as it unfolds along the rural backwoods of Arkansas's Mississippi River.
The story revolves around the adventures of two young teenage boys who meet a mysterious drifter appropriately named Mud. Mud is hiding out an island in the Mississippi River awaiting the arrival of his beloved Juniper. The story has elements of drama, thriller, and romance. While the film is slightly too long and the story has a few unnecessary and distracting subplots, its overall eloquence and is absorbing. So like the Mississippi, the story meanders a little too much.
The River setting becomes a character in the film that shapes the drama playing out along it. The two teenage actors are excellent, but the film is tour-de-force for McConaughey who is its heart and soul. Highly recommended for those who like serious drama and appreciate natural beauty.

Based on the true-life story of Chong Kim, a victim of human trafficking in her teenage years, Eden puts a spotlight on the chilling problem of human sex trafficking in America. But she never reaches home and is instead thrown into the trunk of his car, and smuggled into Nevada where she is imprisoned in a storage facility-turned-brothel.
